Hot! Hot! Hot!

I burned down Drayanor on world 128 yesterday. There was too much fire… I couldn’t find much space to make fire in. Two more levels in firemaking and I can cut/burn willow logs! Yesterday sure was tiring. I’m gonna take a rest now. Bye….(yawn).

Logs, Logs, and More Logs

It’s been a very woody business lately.  First I cut lots of willows.  I’m finding that much quicker now that I don’t have to wander around looking for the lake with willows on its bank.  It’s also quicker not to have to walk so far to the castle bank.  Thanks Nightgunner5 for the assistance finding a willow grove near a bank!!!

Now I’m cutting oaks as well as a few “tree” logs (only when the oak’s temporarily down).  They will be part of a large conflagration once I’ve donated them to a favorite cause.  Hopefully no nightflowers will perish in the fire.

Clan Chatters may Share Loot

I’m impressed by the newest feature of clan chat.  Now a setting has been added that allows members (rank set by owner) to share in the loot when, for instance, a monster is defeated.  LootShare seems well thought-out so that everyone shares fairly.  If you don’t get much, chances are better for you the next time around.  You must be close to the scene to share in the spoils.  And remember, click on the loot bag to participate in this new feature.  Wonder if I’ll get to try it?  What’s your opinion of it…and have you seen it in use yet?

Waving Willows

Today I decided to work on raising my woodcutting level so I’d be able to cut down willows. I thought this would take many days or many moons, but then I discovered I only needed to raise my level by 2 or 3! So I cut down a couple inventories of regulars and oaks, and, lo and behold (!), I was at level 30 woodcutting :)

Of course, nothing is ever simple…along the way I was amazed to discover that cutting oaks yields multiple logs. Guess I’d cut so many regular trees I thought they all gave only a single log–lol. I even asked if something was wrong when I chopped a single oak about 30 times and it hadn’t toppled. On the next oak, I realized I was actually getting many logs during this process.

Another interesting interruption (not the lagging, that was VERY uninteresting)…a black cat appeared next to a man. I thought it was his cat. Then words I hadn’t typed came from my “mouth”, and I was suddenly in prison with lots of balloon animals. After freaking out, I (with a little advice from friends) was able to leave the prison. Even got some chaos runes to show for the inconvenience.

But, enough chatter. I am now able to cut willows, and they are beautiful. A special ty to Nightgunner5 for moral support in the work of the day and for showing me where to find a willow.

P.S. Did you know that more than one person may cut a tree at the same time. Guess I’ve never noticed that because regular trees aren’t as popular. Oh, are there poplars on Runescape? Better go before this post deteriorates further…

Bronze bars have been obtained! A success story!

I am happy to announce that I now have 175 bronze bars. I mined 175 copper ore and 175 tin ore (without getting lost coming & going to the mine & bank). Then, without spending any coins to cross the bridge, I smelted the ore into 175 bronze bars. That entailed a lot of trips between the Lumbridge castle bank and the smelting oven just down (up?) the road. Again, I didn’t get lost–I’m starting to know my way around better! It sure took a lot of trips, though.

Then I bravely or scaredly made my way to the chicken farm south of Falador. I didn’t realize I’d found it until I’d obtained some feathers from chickens in a barnyard and realized the whole setup was the farm where I’ve always done this. I’ll stay there until I have the entire 2625 feathers…no sense going anywhere else unless I get bored. I was hit by a profitable random event–box which yielded hundreds of coins. This is a lot of money for me!

Mining Confidence Builds

I have been mining tin & copper ore south of Lumbridge.  At first I kept getting or feeling lost as I journeyed back & forth to the mine and castle bank.  But now, I am able to make the journey without taking wrong turns.  It feels like my own neighborhood & it seems silly that I’d ever gotten lost on this (now) easy path!  Wish there wasn’t such a crowd to go through at the castle entrance & bank, but the rest is great.

Lessons Learned

Well, after a long absence, I am again posting in The Nightflower. I recently completed an assignment of which I am very proud.  It included my first successful effort to obtain cowhide from a full-grown (instead of baby) cow, and I overcame my fear that the cow would overcome ME!  I also learned that it’s not a good idea to use a pickaxe for cow hunting (lol).  I also missed an opportunity to get a dress from the frog prince (because I forgot my name…long story…you wouldn’t want to hear it) & then got stuck in a remote land of frogs.  Nightfawn saved me from living there forever…long story for another time.

My other great accomplishment was mining materials to make bronze bars.  Here, the pickaxe was the right tool!  Thanks to Nightgunner5 for the great guide which helped me get to & from the mine & smelting oven.  Night fashioned me a leather cowl, body & chaps as well as bronze arrows.  Quite a move up in the world!  I’ve tried ranging & I hope to get better at it now.  Until next time…
